Ontario Tech stays hot with home victory on Friday night

The Ontario Tech women's hockey team extended their winning streak to three games with a 3–2 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday, January 23.

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's hockey team extended their winning streak to three games with a 3–2 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday, January 23.
 
Ontario Tech opened the scoring at 9:58 of the first period on the power play, as Julia Jackson converted a feed from Zoe Wilson and Madison Deschamps to give the Ridgebacks a 1–0 lead. The hosts doubled the advantage early in the second period when Emily Harrison scored at even strength, with Harrie Jones and Elissa Burton earning assists.
 
Ottawa answered with a pair of goals late in the second period to pull even heading into the intermission, but the Ridgebacks responded early in the third. Jessica Patterson netted the decisive goal at 2:52, finishing a setup from Milana Perri and Deschamps to restore the lead.
 
Ava Antle made 32 saves to earn the win for Ontario Tech, helping the Ridgebacks secure their third consecutive victory.
 
The Ridgebacks will look to continue their momentum when they return to home ice tomorrow to host the York Lions at 7 p.m.
