Ontario Tech introduces Audra Sherman as new athletics director
OSHAWA, Ont. – Ontario Tech University is excited to announce the appointment of Audra Sherman as Director, Athletics and Recreation, marking a pivotal step in building a high-performance athletics program for the Ridgebacks.
"I'm fortunate to be part of a university ready to invest in high-performance sport," Sherman said. "Ontario Tech has the foundation and ambition to build something exceptional."
Sherman brings deep experience in high-performance sport environments and a clear vision to position Ontario Tech as a destination for top student-athletes. Her leadership aligns with the university's commitment to growth, innovation, and student-centred excellence.
A key priority under Sherman's direction is the creation of a state-of-the-art high-performance center – a cornerstone investment that will transform training, integrate sport science, and elevate competitive readiness. Planning is underway, with phased development designed to support a growing athletics department and expanding varsity sport offerings in the coming years.
"I am incredibly proud of our student athletes, coaches and staff. Ontario Tech will continue to attract and support student athletes who see our university as a destination for combining high-performance athletics with cutting-edge learning," said Ontario Tech President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Steven Murphy. "I want to thank Audra for stepping into this role and strengthening a true high-performance culture that will make our community proud for years to come."
