Men's hockey welcome hard working Kerr to 2025-26 recruiting class
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech men's hockey program is excited to announce the addition of Lone Star Brahmas stand out Owen Kerr to the 2025-26 recruiting class.
"Owen will be a real nice addition to our program. He is a player who will add some size and physicality to our forward group, but at the same time, he has a solid skillset and can really shoot the puck," said Ridgebacks Head Coach Curtis Hodgins. "He comes from one of the top programs in the NAHL, and we look forward to him bringing that winning pedigree to our program."
Kerr joins the Ridgebacks after two standout seasons with the Lone Star Brahmas, where he established himself as a model of resilience, discipline, and hard work. Known for his relentless effort and ability to rise to the occasion, he embraced the daily grind and became a player teammates could rely on in all situations—on and off the ice.
In 2023-24, he appeared in 55 games with 15 goals and 17 assists, while contributing three goals and three assists in the playoffs. He built on that foundation in 2024-25, posting 25 goals and 22 assists over 57 games, along with one goal and four assists in the postseason.
"It was a true pleasure coaching Owen during his two seasons with the Brahmas. His dedication & work ethic provided his extensive growth as a player in the years he donned a Brahmas jersey," said Lone Star Head Coach Dan Wildfong. "He was a pivotal player in the locker room as well. I have no doubt that he will go on to do great things as he continues his hockey career. I wish him all the best in the next chapter."
