Hogan and Wylie lead Ontario Tech past Trent in 2-0 win
PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – Ontario Tech claimed their second victory of the season in a 2-0 win over the Trent Excalibur at Justin Chiu Stadium on Friday evening.
The Ridgebacks got off to a fast start, with Georgia Hogan (Ottawa, Ont.) scoring in the sixth minute after a well-placed assist from Mackenzie Scott (Peterborough, Ont.). Hogan wasn't done there; she later set up Sara Wylie, (Mississauga, Ont.) who found the back of the net in the 29th minute to double Ontario Tech's lead.
Despite Trent goalkeeper Victoria Ivey-Town's best efforts—racking up nine saves—Ontario Tech's relentless attack proved too much. The Ridgebacks dominated offensively, taking 14 shots and putting 11 on target, while Trent managed just three shots overall, with only one troubling Ontario Tech's keeper, Alicia Chisholm, who kept a clean sheet.
The Ridgebacks will be back in action this weekend at Vaso's Field when they take on the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sunday, September 29 at 1 p.m.
