Germain joins 2025-26 men's basketball recruiting class
OSHAWA, Ont. – Ontario Tech Men's Basketball is happy to announce that Johan Germain will join Ontario Tech for the 2025-26 season.
"I'm grateful for this opportunity that has been given to me by the program and Coach Deluxshan," said Germain. "I'm excited to take my next step at Ontario Tech, and I'm ready to embrace the team culture to learn and bring my work ethic and dedication. I'm thankful for this new chapter and honored to be a part of the Ridgeback family!"
The five-foot-ten guard from Guadeloupe, France, averaged 13 points a game for the Algoma Thunderbirds last season, was one of the top three-point shooters in the league, finishing the season off, sitting 20th in the league for three-pointers made with 37, and averaged 33 percent over his three years with the Thunderbirds.
Germain has had several standout performances for Algoma, including a 30-point outburst against the Lakehead Thunderwolves, where he shot 62 percent from three-point range.
"Johan is a proven guard in the OUA. I am thrilled to welcome him into the Ontario Tech community," said Ridgebacks Head Coach, Deluxshan Pathmanathan. "I look forward to working with him and having him on campus very soon!"
